Camp Director/Associate Head Coach
Bret Boulware
Bret Boulware serves as Associate Head Coach for the Furman University men’s soccer program, bringing decades of experience, continuity, and institutional knowledge to one of the nation’s premier programs.
Boulware first joined Furman’s coaching staff from 1995–99, arriving alongside then-head coach Doug Allison and helping lay the foundation for one of the most successful stretches in program history. During that era, the Paladins captured four Southern Conference regular-season championships, three SoCon Tournament titles, earned consistent top-25 national rankings, and posted the fifth-best record in NCAA Division I soccer (78-21-7) over a five-year span. The period remains a defining chapter in Furman soccer history and a cornerstone of the program’s championship identity.
A 1992 graduate of Presbyterian College, Boulware returned to his alma mater in 2000 as head coach, leading the Blue Hose for 16 seasons. During his tenure, he guided PC to six seasons of eight or more wins, captured a conference regular-season championship, and played a pivotal role in the program’s transition from Division II to Division I between 2007 and 2012.
Boulware rejoined Furman in 2016, bringing his head-coaching experience, operational expertise, and deep ties to the program back to Greenville. In his current role, he provides leadership continuity, oversees program operations, and supports player development while helping preserve the standards and culture that have defined Furman men’s soccer for generations
